Does 1st Effect Auto work with my insurance?
Yes. 1st Effect Auto bills directly with every major auto insurance carrier and walks you through the entire claim — from the first estimate, through supplement approvals, to the final delivery of your repaired vehicle. You pay only your deductible. You do not need your insurer's permission to choose us.

The claims process
From the accident to keys back, step by step.
Five clear stages. We coordinate with your insurer at every step so you only deal with one shop.
- 1
Report the accident to your insurer
Call your insurance company and get a claim number. You do not need their permission to choose where your vehicle is repaired.
- 2
Bring the vehicle to 1st Effect Auto
Drive in or arrange a tow to 325 US-46, Rockaway, NJ. We document the damage and prepare a written estimate at no cost.
- 3
We coordinate with your carrier
We submit the estimate, negotiate supplements for any hidden damage uncovered during teardown, and order OEM parts.
- 4
Repairs begin upon authorization
Structural work, body repair, paint, and reassembly are performed by factory-trained technicians using manufacturer procedures.
- 5
QC, final detail, and delivery
Post-repair scan, multi-point inspection, and detail wash. You pay only your deductible — we bill the rest to your carrier.
What to bring when you drop off.
- Driver's license and insurance card
- Claim number (if your claim is already open)
- Your insurer's adjuster contact info, if you have it
- Vehicle keys and any aftermarket-part records
You choose the shop. Not your insurer.
- You can choose any licensed repair shop in New Jersey — not just one your insurer steers you toward.
- You are entitled to have your vehicle restored to pre-accident condition.
- OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts protect resale value and ADAS calibration.
- You only pay your deductible — the balance is billed directly to your carrier.
